Bill Sharp

 

William M. Sharp, Sr. (Bill) joined SIBF in 1985 and was one of the early members of the Tampa, Florida chapter.  He chaired the national Board of Directors in 2001. He has held many other leadership roles in the group and traveled on over 20 SIBF International Conferences as well as Global Summits.  He also is the founder of the Cigar Band of Brothers, an unofficial group of SIBF members, who have helped fund a school and health clinic in the Dominican Republic.

 

Bill is a partner with Holland & Knight with more than 35 years of experience representing clients in a wide variety of international tax planning and tax controversy cases. He splits his time among Holland & Knight’s Atlanta, San Francisco, and Tampa offices, and he resides in Atlanta and San Francisco.

 

Bill has extensive experience in handling matters related to cross-border tax planning, compliance, and tax litigation matters.  He also coordinates inbound as well as outbound global tax planning by working with an extensive network of lawyers throughout the world and advises financial institutions and their clients on international tax enforcement initiatives. He advises financial institutions and their clients on international tax compliance and enforcement initiatives and oversees global tax planning for several foreign-based and U.S.-based family offices.
