Jane Shivers

A devoted member of SIBF for more than 30 years, Jane Shivers has served as Chair of SIBF’s Board of Directors, as well as Chair of the Global Network Foundation, SIBF’s charitable arm. She has spearheaded the organization’s communications, fund-raising, and strategic planning efforts for years and was also a facilitator at CELA 2 in Istanbul.

Jane and her husband, Bill Sharp (SIBF ’93), have attended over 20 SIBF International Conferences around the world and remain eager to grow the global network through the expansion of NALA.

Jane credits her love of learning and travel to her work as a twenty-year-old staff member of Semester at Sea, an adventurous shipboard education program. Jane initially joined SIBF to learn more about global business while she was expanding her career in public relations. During that period, she served as managing director of Ketchum, a global PR firm, and was responsible for three domestic offices as well as offices throughout Latin America.

Jane’s passion for community involvement has also benefited the City of Atlanta, where she founded the Piedmont Park Conservancy and was Chair of the Board of Directors of  Zoo Atlanta, and Lead 4 Tomorrow.   She is a Lifetime Director of the Alliance Theatre Company; and she currently serves on the Board of Councilors of The Carter Center and the Dean’s Advisory Council of The Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She is on the board of the Telluride Medical Foundation and a member of Rotary International. Jane was an outside director of two public company boards and has broadened her education by attending the Corporate Board of Directors programs at Harvard and Wharton.
