Dan Ciprari

 

Dan is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and/or exited companies in the information technology, nanotechnology, medical device, and clean technology industries. He is currently CEO and co-founder of Pointivo, a software company specializing in analytics and large asset inspection using artificial intelligence and computer vision. In his previous role as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Atlanta Technology Development Center, he advised and guided startup company executives in the early stages of their life cycle.  Prior to that, Dan served as CEO of Illumitron International, Inc., an LED lighting manufacturer and energy management software provider headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

Previously, Dan was focused on information technology, specializing in technology solutions with Andersen Consulting and later Sybase.  He cofounded a consulting firm focusing on large internet applications architecture, later merging his company with Security First Network Bank (now S1), the first bank on the internet. In 2001, Mr. Ciprari and his wife took a year off and traveled around the world, visiting 22 countries over seven months. Afterwards, he focused his attention on performing R&D in nanotechnology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

 

Dan has been a partner in a venture capital fund specializing in early-stage technology investing and is an angel investor and advisor in several technology companies in the Atlanta area. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s in Material Science & Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He serves on the Executive Board of SIBF and has helped develop and facilitate leadership programs in the U.S. and the Middle East.  He lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife and three children and is active in the community.
